The case is engulfing South America. The conflict pits Argentina against Peru, Colombia and Uruguay. The reason of this state affair ? The qualification for the World Cup. I sum up : one of the biggest nations of the football world, Argentina, is in danger. If the Maradona’s team do not win its two last games against Peru and Uruguay, they might miss the next World Cup in South Africa. This could benefit Colombia and Uruguay who are fighting with Argentina for a seat.

Oh, magic of football : the outsiders are fighting with the favorites, David against Goliath. OK but a few hours before the decisive games, Peruvian  media declared that Colombia and Uruguay federations could have proposed money to Peru football players for them to beat Argentina. Soft answer of the defendants : no, they have not given money to the Peruvian but Argentina did when Peru beat Uruguay one month ago. Fair trade.

But the case is not over. In the Peruvian newspaper El Bocon, the Peruvian striker Roberto Palacios declared there was no incentive but that he is aware to. “There was no incentive but if there is, please tell me !” Since the beginning of the case, new revelations have come. Some Peruvian players would have cashed 120.000 dollars in September for their victory against Uruguay. Prices rose as the offer of Uruguay and Colombia for this game would be 200.000 dollars. Good news for the exchange offices : they may work hard in the coming days!
